CTO
Part of the NAVAIR Engineering and Cyber Warfare Group, the Chief Technology Office (CTO) identifies and prioritizes science and technology (S&T) research needs; focuses investments and improves the alignment of resources to support the development of future naval aviation capabilities; and collaborates with the fleet, acquisition offices, resource sponsors and technology developers to ensure a balanced S&T portfolio that provides solutions to critical operational needs. The CTO’s Science and Technology Objectives (STOs) provide the strategic direction for naval aviation and outline a common framework to align current efforts and identify areas in need of S&T investment. The CTO is focused on activities that show promise for naval aviation warfighting and sustainment that can achieve a Technology Readiness Level 6 or higher within 24 months.
